Galatians 2:1-14 Understanding sin and the Gospel brings humility into community. We learn to walk in: Humble submission without idolizing others Humble partnership without idolizing our passions Humble correction without idolizing ourselves Sample Questions for GCs: Read Galatians 2:2, then Galatians 2:6. Paul humbly presented the Gospel he was preaching to the other apostles. He submitted to them. And yet, he didn’t feel beneath them or below them. He didn’t put them on a pedestal or idolize them. How does this example of humility and confidence help you? Read Galatians 2:9. Paul and the other apostles didn’t compare their ministry passions to one another. They didn’t expect one another to have the exact same passions or ministry focus. They partnered together because they shared the same Gospel, not the same ministry passion. What does this teach us about protecting the local church from division? Read Galatians 2:14. Notice how Paul approached Peter’s act of racism. He didn’t accuse Peter in a way to exalt himself. He directly, and yet patiently showed Peter how his actions deviated from the truth of the Gospel. How does this help you understand what confrontation between Christians should look like?
