Love changes our mission (pt 4)
• Series: Renovate: How Jesus teaches us to love
How does real love change our mission? 1.) Make disciples of Jesus personally 2.) Make disciples of Jesus together 3.) Make disciples of Jesus sacrificially Matthew 18:10-14 Matthew 28:18-20 Matthew 18:15-17 Questions: 1.) Read Matthew 28:18-20. This is the personal mission of every Christian. As we go about our daily lives, we are called to make disciples of Jesus. What gets in the way of us being passionate about this mission? 2.) Read Matthew 18:10-14. The shepherd doesn't stay with the 99. He leaves for the 1, and rejoices over the 1 more than the 99. Should church community be built around keeping the 99 comfortable or making room to welcome and disciple the 1? How does this challenge your comfort? 3.) Read Matthew 18:13-17. Notice the "if" in verse 13. Sometimes the stray sheep doesn't come home. It's very painful to experience this. Sometimes a Christian can lose their zeal for mission when this happens because they don't want to get hurt again. If we truly want to love Jesus, can we allow our past experience to control us?
