Apologetics pt 2

 â€¢ Series: Lasting Gospel Culture

This sermon was preached by Phil Cook, an elder at The Seed Church. Discussion questions: What was your previous understanding of how canon was shaped prior to the details presented in the sermon this past Sunday? How have they changed, been challenged, or strengthened? The devil approaches Jesus in the desert after 40 days and nights of fasting. Matthew's account of these events specifically notes that Jesus was hungry. What strength does this stir within you to know that Jesus rests upon the authority of the law and prophets despite being hungry and tempted by Satan? Furthermore, examine the three methods the devil utilizes to tempt Jesus. What do these three temptations say about the nature of how we are tempted as humans? Why is it so important that Jesus can provide scriptural support for each temptation? What changes to your approach will you take (if any) when attempting to evangelize someone who might have doubts about the authority to Scripture?
