Matthew's account of these events specifically notes that Jesus was hungry. What strength does this stir within you to know that Jesus rests upon the authority of the law and prophets despite being hungry and tempted by Satan? Furthermore, examine the three methods the devil utilizes to tempt Jesus. What do these three temptations say about the nature of how we are tempted as humans? Why is it so important that Jesus can provide scriptural support for each temptation?
