Learning how to function together as the body of Christ: 1.) Purpose 2.) Humility 3.) Excellence Romans 12:1-8 Hebrews 1:1-3 Questions: 1.) Read Romans 12:1-2. Worshiping God is not about doing religious things in isolated moments of time. True worship is living our lives before the eyes of God, as a living sacrifice, giving ourselves fully to Him. How does this help you define the purpose of your life? 2.) Read Romans 12:3-5. The parts of a human body have different functions, just as believers in a church have different functions. Without humility, we will compare ourselves to one another, rather than honoring one another. How does believing the Gospel help us be humble people who don't demean ourselves or exalt ourselves? 3.) Read Romans 12:6-8. These gifts are not radically supernatural spiritual gifts. They are common and simple. Do you think it is possible that we take too much credit for our talents, abilities, opportunities, and the bright spots in our personality, not realizing these are actually gifts given to us from God? How does this realization cut away our pride and fill us with gratitude toward God?
