How does passionate love for God protect us? 1.) Passion forms us 2.) Worldly passion numbs us 3.) The Bible says when people follow worthless idols, they themselves become worthless. We are formed by what we follow. Now read Romans 1:18-25. How does passionate love for God protect us? 2.) Read Jeremiah 2:6-7. When we are slaves to worldly passions, we stop asking the right questions. We lose our sense of purpose. We defile our lives. Can you think of a time in your life when you were numb to God because your heart was enslaved to something in this world? 3.) Read Jeremiah 2:32. God feels a deep, passionate love for us, like a husband for his bride on their wedding day. When we forget God by prioritizing many other things in front of Him, it weighs on His heart, just like a husband who misses his wife because she's away on a trip. Do you meditate enough on the reality that God loves you this way and delights in your love for Him?
