Shepherds (pt 3)

â€¢ Series: The God Who Names Us

How does God name the Shepherds? 1.) Chosen for the Good News 2.) Loved and wanted 3.) Ambassadors of the King Luke 2:8-20 Questions: 1.) Read Luke 2:8-10. The angels did not visit priests, kings, or community leaders. They visited shepherds who were generally considered outcasts and sinners. Many shepherds were indeed not good people. What does this tell us about the Gospel of Jesus? 2.) Read Luke 2:11. The angels said to the shepherds: a Savior was born "for you." Jesus did not come to save humankind, in some abstract sense, but to save individual people like you and me and the shepherds. Think about the reality that Jesus came to save... you. Specifically, you. How does that give you gratitude and draw you into worship? 3.) Read Luke 2:16-20. The shepherds glorified and praised God for seeing Jesus, and they joyfully told others about the Good News of Jesus' birth. Is the Good News of Jesus good enough news to share? Why or why not? Do you pray for opportunities to share it and take those opportunities?
