Where is the problem? (pt 2)

â€¢ Series: Renovate: How Jesus teaches us to love

Where is the problem? 1.) Foundation of faith, first 2.) Focus for transformation, second 3.) Function of the heart, third Matthew 15:10-20 Romans 12:1-2 Questions: 1.) Read Matthew 15:10-14. The Pharisees are offended by Jesus, and Jesus does not try to instruct them further. He says they are blind guides who are not planted by the Father, which means, they aren't converted. They don't know God. What does this teach us about how to love unbelievers? Should we try to argue the Bible with unbelievers or help them understand the Gospel? 2.) Read Matthew 15:10-11 & 18. According to Jesus, sin in our heart is what defiles us. If we want to love others like Jesus, should we help people focus first on their outward activities, or their heart? Why? 3.) Read Matthew 15:16-19. Based on these verses, can we say our sin is really not our fault, but just a product of our circumstances? How does this help us take responsibility and stay humble?
