Kings and covenants – 2 Samuel 21:1-14 God cares about justice David applied the Old Covenant Jesus and the New Covenant Adjusting our view Questions: How does this Scripture illustrate God's concern for justice? Why were 7 of Saul's descendants executed for Saul's sin? How is the New Covenant different from the Old Covenant? The New Testament teaches that through faith in Jesus, all of our sin is fully atoned for. His sacrifice was once-for-all-time. But in the Old Covenant, sacrifices had to be made again and again because the atonement was not once-for-all-time. Can you name an example of how Christians can fail to see others through a New Covenant lens, and instead apply an Old Covenant lens - essentially treating someone as though their sin, story, or heritage requires additional atonement?
