A New Body (pt 7)
• Series: Heaven
Why should Christians highly value the human body without exalting it? 1.) Theology of the body 2.) Totally unique identity 3.) Sensory perfection 1 Corinthians 15:35-49 Questions: 1.) Read 1 Corinthians 15:35-36. Paul is addressing someone who is stuck on a "how" question. They are saying, "How is this possible? How can this happen? How will God do this? How will this work?" When we get stuck on "how" questions, are we walking by faith? 2.) Read 1 Corinthians 15:41-44. In the new heavens and new earth, all corruption, dishonor, and weakness will be gone. We will all be the same: Perfect! And yet, we will all be unique, just as each star is different from all others. How can this hope, of being perfect and unique, help people in our culture who feel lonely? 3.) Read 1 Corinthians 15:47-49. We are currently of the dust like Adam, but one day we will have a heavenly body like Jesus. We will have sensory perfection in a perfect world! How does this help you long for heaven?
