Reminded of what we already know (pt 3)

Remember A manual on fighting against falling away A series in 2 Peter This summer we’re working through 2 Peter verse-by-verse. There are 66 books in the Bible, and 2 Peter is #61. It’s only three chapters, and a total of 61 verses. It’s a short New Testament letter, but it packs a punch. This letter is a training manual on how to fight against falling away from faith in Jesus. Peter has credibility on the topic of falling away. He denied even knowing Jesus 3 times in his hour of greatest need. At the Last Supper, Peter claimed to be Jesus’ closest friend, and then he ran away from all of it. But he returned. In this short letter, Peter uses the word “remind” or “reminder” 3 times. That’s why this series is titled Remember. Reminded of what we already know (2 Peter 1:12-16) 1.) Sleep-walking 2.) Pace-setting 3.) Truth-telling Questions: Peter talks about "waking up" the believers he was writing to. Why do we need to be waken up at times? What do you think Peter is talking about? Peter says that he will "make every effort," even as he encourages his readers to do the same. He is setting the pace. Have you thought enough about setting a pace for your spiritual journey with Jesus? What is the difference between "truth-handling" and "truth-telling?"
